From Coach Rob:
Hello Folks!
A few weeks have passed since the "B" Championships in Naples and I still can't stop thinking about how well we swam and how much fun this meet was. Many thanks to the parents and swimmers who made this meet so wonderful. Congratulations to all the swimmers who had best times (there were a bunch). Extra congrats go out to Tobie Daniels, Kamden Ahlberg and Patrick Ceddia for their three medals each. Additional appreciation goes out to the Leonards, Hayes and Rhoades families for such a great time at lunch.
There is only one meet coming up for the month of January, but it is an important one for any and all swimmers planning on attending Y States in February. The YMCA Invitational will be held on January 17 - 19. Swimmers that plan on attending Y States in February MUST SWIM ON ALL THREE DAYS. Meet sign-up sheets will be distributed soon. Please return them as soon as possible so that meet entries for upcoming meets are done correctly.
All the Best,
Coach Rob

News From Coach Whitney at ESJ:
Hello Folks!
PRETEAM NEWS
Well the Preteam has been working very hard this past month. We have been working on building up our endurance, perfecting our strokes and, most importantly, making friends and having fun. We had lots of great swims at the Turkey Meet. We even had some wonderful swims at the Naples "B" Championship!!! Our Preteam 8 and under relay team took fourth place over all (way to go Maddy, Nadia, Kristin and Shelby!!!). We had lots of fun!! Our holiday relay meet is just around the corner and our pizza party should be lots of fun too!!! Keep working on those strokes and I know you will do great! Congratulations to Ian Amistoso who is moving to the White team in January. We know you will do super!!!
NOVICE TEAM
The Novice team continues to improve with each practice. All of your strokes are looking much better and your endurance is picking up also (fewer people are walking every other lap!). We will continue to work on your strokes and endurance over the next few months, hopefully moving more of you into the "wanna be" group! Congratulations to Eden Veldecamp. She swam at the Naples "B" Championship meet and had a super meet. I was very proud of her and how well she swam for her first USS meet ever!!!!! Congratulations again Eden.
WHITE TEAM
The White team continues to be a wonderful group of swimmers who get along with one another and enjoy each others company. I really enjoy coaching this group because they always give it their best (even when they complain about the practices!!!!). We had a super time at the Turkey Meet, lots of swimmers swimming for the first time on Friday night (my favorite night of any swim meet!), lots of great times on Saturday and Sunday and lots of fun on both days!! We had some awesome swims at the Naples "B" Championship and we learned some very valuable lessons also (the stroke judge really does watch). I am very proud of all of the white team members and really enjoy my time with you. Congratulations to Keira, Rachel, Lauren, Alex, Chelsea, Ben, Kaylin and Kaitlyn. They are moving into the "wanna be" group until they are ready to make the leap into the next group!! I am very proud of you all --- you have earned this!!! To everyone at ESJ, have a safe and happy holiday and best of luck to you and your family in the new year!!! If you ever have any questions, comments or concerns, let me know. As always, swim fast and have fun,
Coach Whitney
